Green Contact Lenses That Do the Character Work
Green contact lenses can carry a whole cosplay. A wig, a prop, the right blush — none of it lands until the eyes change. This pair does it in one step: a dark center that opens into yellow-green sunburst spokes over a cool aqua field.
The Pattern Up Close
The lens reads dark at the pupil, then flares outward in fine radial spokes tipped with warmer yellow-green. There is no heavy outer ring, so the color stays open and graphic instead of walled in. In shade the dark center leads and the eye goes deep and cool. In direct light the spokes brighten and the whole iris looks lit from inside.
Convention, Stage and Party Photos
This is a pattern that survives distance. Hallway shots, group photos, stage light, a flash in a packed room — the radial flare still reads when your eyes are a fraction of the frame. In daylight, turn away from the sun and bounce light in from the side so the spokes separate cleanly. In a dark room, one small front light beats a high ISO every time.
Costume Makeup and Styling
Keep the eye palette cool so the green stays the loudest thing on your face: moss, teal, smoked graphite, charcoal liner. Warm shadows fight the yellow-green tips. Go heavy and high with blush, gloss the lips, add a few fake freckles — the contrast between a soft face and an unnatural iris is what sells a green cosplay lens on camera. Ash brown, jet black and platinum wigs all work; a party outfit with one sharp teal or lime accent ties the whole look together.

Understanding Your Prescription

Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes

BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)

DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)

AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
