Purple Contact Lenses With Party-Night Presence

Nebula Purple Contact Lenses: The con hall lights are still on, your group photo is in ten minutes, and the costume only works if the eyes commit. Full-coverage purple does that — it turns a good costume into a look people stop you for.

What You’re Actually Looking At

The field is a solid, saturated purple that fills the iris edge to edge instead of fading out in the middle. There’s no dot mesh and no printed sparkle; the finish is smooth, so the color stays even when you blink or turn. The edge carries a slightly deeper purple that acts like a soft outline, so it doesn’t blur into the white of your eye.

Lighting, Camera, Convention Floor

Purple sits between warm and cool, so lighting matters. Under convention fluorescents it leans cooler and slightly smoky; under stage gels or a phone flash it swings toward vivid grape. Shoot at eye level, skip the straight-on flash unless you want the full pop, and bring a small ring light for hallway shots so the color stays consistent frame to frame.

Makeup, Wig, Outfit

Keep the eye makeup cool — silver, lilac, muted grey, a crisp black lash line. Warm coral blush and heavy bronzer pull the face yellow against this shade. If your wig is pale or silver-white, the purple becomes the loudest thing on your face, so balance it with a darker lip or a chunky earring. Velvet, lace and dark brocade all sit well with it.

From a Cosplayer

“I shot a Venti cosplay set at a summer con with these in, and the purple was the first thing people mentioned when the gallery went up,” one creator told us. It’s her default Venti cosplay lens now.

About CCUS EYEWEAR

CCUS EYEWEAR makes cosplay-focused lenses for people who plan shoots around light, not just around costumes.

Care reminder: clean, dry hands, fresh solution in a clean case, and take them out before you sleep. Don’t share them. If your eyes feel off, out they come.

Contact Lens Care Guidelines

  • We recommend a rub and rinse before soaking soft lenses for a minimum of 6 hours in their container.
  • Don't wear contact lenses overnight.
  • Don't wear your contact lenses in the shower or while swimming.
  • Don't reuse contact lens solution.
  • Don't use saline solution for contact lens cleaning or disinfection.
  • Replace your contact lens case every two to three months.
  • Take out your contacts if they are bothering you.
  • Never use saliva as a wetting agent.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
