Quick answer

Nebula Dusk Smoke Grey Contact Lenses give the iris a smoky grey wash with a soft center-to-edge fade and a darker rim. If you want grey contact lenses that add quiet definition instead of a loud color shift, this pair belongs on your short list.

What the Shade Looks Like

In the close-up, the lens base is a cool smoky grey rather than a flat silver. The center opens into a slightly lighter mid-iris zone, then deepens toward a distinct charcoal outer rim that stays darker than the middle field.

A fine dot or mesh-like print runs through the graphic, and once worn it blends into a soft stippled effect that keeps the grey from looking painted on. There is visible surface gloss in the product shot, with a bright curved highlight on the lens and a window reflection in the eye photo.

What to Wear With Grey

1. Soft monochrome. Start with a dove-grey slip dress or a heather-grey turtleneck, add black tailored trousers, and finish with pewter or gunmetal jewelry. The grey lens tone echoes the fabric without disappearing into it.

2. Cool contrast. Try an ivory cable-knit sweater, a black leather jacket, and dark indigo denim. Silver hoops and a small charcoal bag keep the palette sharp and modern.

3. Muted romance. Pair a dusty-blue blouse with a cream midi skirt, sheer black tights, and matte silver rings. The smoky grey iris balances the softness of the outfit.

Where They Fit

These work well for office days, coffee runs, travel photos, and evening dinners where you want a little polish. They also suit moody cosplay, Halloween styling, and flash photography, since the darker rim holds its shape in low light.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, this is an easy everyday grey if you like visible iris definition. It feels right for work, errands, and dinners. Skip it on days when you want a bare, no-makeup eye, because the coverage is moderate to high and the rim is clearly visible.

FAQ

What color are these lenses? They are a smoky grey with a soft mid-iris glow and a darker outer ring.

What should I wear with them? Cool neutrals work best: grey, black, ivory, denim, and brushed silver or pewter metals.

Can I wear them every day? Yes, for most everyday looks, though the defined rim makes them feel more styled than natural.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
