Quick answer

Morning Meadow Green Contact Lenses are a soft, leafy green that deepens the iris in daylight — green contact lenses for a natural face, not a costume.

What the Shade Looks Like

The pupil stays open and clean, and the green blooms outward from the center in an even wash. There is no hard outer ring; the color simply fades into your own eye tone. Up close the surface has a fine, softly stippled finish and a satin glow instead of a glassy flash, so window light reads gentle. In person it looks like a greener, slightly deeper version of your own eyes.

What to Wear With Green

1. Oatmeal and cream. An oversized cream cable knit, wide-leg oat trousers, tan leather loafers, brushed gold hoops, brown mascara and a sheer balm.

2. Denim and white. Light-wash straight jeans, a plain white tee, a navy overshirt, small silver huggies, clear brow gel and bare skin.

3. Chocolate and olive. An olive linen blazer over a black tank, chocolate brown trousers, warm bronze jewelry and a terracotta lip tint.

Where They Fit

These are my quiet-day lenses: an office Tuesday, a long brunch, a museum afternoon, a weekend trip where photos happen anyway. They also make an easy green base for Halloween or cosplay looks when you want the eye without a full character build.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, with one condition. Morning Meadow Green works daily when your makeup stays soft — skin, brows, mascara — and it looks its best in daylight. If you want a hard graphic edge or a dramatic jump for stage photos, a bolder lens will serve you better.

FAQ

What color are these green contact lenses? A fresh, leafy green with a mossy undertone, soft at the edge rather than a deep emerald or a bright lime.

What should I wear with green contact lenses? Warm neutrals — cream, oat, camel, chocolate — keep them natural; denim and silver make them read cooler.

Do they work for everyday wear? Yes for minimal makeup and daylight. They read subtle in person, so choose something bolder for a loud eye.

Contact Lens Care Guidelines

  • We recommend a rub and rinse before soaking soft lenses for a minimum of 6 hours in their container.
  • Don't wear contact lenses overnight.
  • Don't wear your contact lenses in the shower or while swimming.
  • Don't reuse contact lens solution.
  • Don't use saline solution for contact lens cleaning or disinfection.
  • Replace your contact lens case every two to three months.
  • Take out your contacts if they are bothering you.
  • Never use saliva as a wetting agent.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
