Quick answer

Morning Linen Grey Blue Contact Lenses are blue contact lenses for anyone who wants a soft grey-blue wash instead of a loud, costume-blue look.

What the Shade Looks Like

The base is a low-saturation grey-blue, closer to a cold morning sky than to cobalt. Around the pupil it stays light, then softens outward with no hard line and no drawn-on rim. The pattern is a fine speckled dot mesh — those tiny points keep the blue from reading as a solid disc. There is no mirrored gloss, and the outer edge only deepens slightly before it fades, so the iris keeps its own shape.

What to Wear With Blue

1. Crisp daytime neutrals. A white poplin shirt, ecru straight-leg denim, tan loafers and one thin silver ring. Cool blue against warm cream looks clean, never corporate.

2. Washed denim and oatmeal. A light chambray shirt over a cream knit, dark indigo jeans, canvas sneakers, matte gold hoops.

3. Charcoal silk for evening. A charcoal slip dress with a grey wool blazer and a brushed gold chain. Restaurant light turns the blue cooler, so keep the face soft.

Where They Fit

Everyday first: the office, a coffee run, a travel day, a daylight portrait. They photograph well at brunch or dinner, where city light gives the mesh a faint shimmer. A party or cosplay look works too, but this pair belongs to real life.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes. In daylight they stay subtle with minimal makeup and neutral clothes. Under bright indoor light the blue reads stronger, so skip heavy liner and let the mesh do the work.

FAQ

What color are these blue contact lenses? A low-saturation grey-blue with a fine speckled mesh, a light center and a soft fade at the edge.

What should I pair with them? White, cream, oatmeal and denim by day; charcoal, black and brushed gold at night.

Are they subtle enough for everyday? Yes in daylight; under bright indoor light the blue reads a little stronger, so keep eye makeup minimal.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
