Quick answer

Morning Lilac Purple Contact Lenses are a medium-coverage purple with a soft, blended edge. That softness keeps purple contact lenses like this one in everyday territory instead of costume territory.

What the Shade Looks Like

Up close, the base is a muted lilac purple with a cool, slightly grey undertone. It sits lightest around the pupil opening and deepens through the middle of the iris, so the center-to-mid transition is a gentle fade, not a hard step.

There is no black or charcoal outer rim. The purple simply softens toward the iris edge, which is why the finish reads natural at talking distance. The surface looks smooth and even, with no visible dot mesh and no hard gloss highlight.

What to Wear With Purple

1. Cream and denim. A cream linen shirt, a plain white tee, faded straight-leg jeans, a tan belt. Warm neutrals stop the violet from looking heavy.

2. Charcoal and silver. Grey wool trousers, a soft charcoal knit, a thin silver chain. Cool greys make the purple look deliberate.

3. Plum on plum. A muted plum slip dress, a deep aubergine cardigan, brushed gold hoops. Tonal purples read editorial without trying too hard.

Where They Fit

In daylight they read as a quiet tint, which suits office hours, weekend errands, and long travel days. At night they hold their own by candlelight, and they photograph well at parties because the purple stays cool rather than neon.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes — this is an everyday purple. It works in daylight and office lighting because the coverage is medium and the edge is soft, so the color never looks painted on. Save bolder purple for a night out.

FAQ

Are these lenses actually purple? Yes — a muted lilac purple at medium coverage, lightest near the center and a touch deeper through the mid iris.

What makeup pairs with purple contact lenses? Skin tint, brown mascara, taupe shadow. Add plum liner along the lower lash line for more impact.

Can I wear them on a normal workday? Yes in soft indoor light, where they read as a subtle tint. In bright sun the purple shows more, so treat it as a styling choice that day.

  • Don't reuse contact lens solution.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
