Quick Answer
Morning Ash Grey Contact Lenses are a soft, smoky grey with a darker center blend, so the eye reads deeper instead of icy. For anyone shopping grey contact lenses that still look like a real face, this sits at the quiet end of the range.
What the Shade Looks Like
Up close, the center is a soft grey wash that deepens as it moves outward, then thins and melts into your own iris line — there is no hard printed rim at the outer edge. The grey covers the iris evenly and the surface is smooth rather than dotted or meshed, with an even finish that stays matte-soft instead of glossy.
What to Wear With Grey
-
Oatmeal and cream: an oatmeal cardigan, cream denim, a plain white tee, brushed silver hoops and a taupe leather bag.
-
Charcoal tailoring: a charcoal blazer over a black turtleneck, grey wool trousers, gunmetal studs and black loafers.
-
Denim and faded rose: mid-wash denim, a dusty rose knit, tan suede boots and one thin gold chain.
Where They Fit
Desk days, video calls, weekends, travel and low-key dinners — this grey behaves indoors and in daylight. It also suits portraits and cosplay styling when you want a soft half-tone depth rather than a bold pop, and it holds up with a bare five-minute face.
Everyday Wear: Yes
Yes. Bare lids, brow gel and one coat of mascara are enough, and the shade still reads soft under office lighting. Skip it only when you want a loud, high-contrast eye.
FAQ
What color are these grey contact lenses? A soft smoke-grey center that deepens through the middle before fading out, with no hard outer ring.
What should I wear with them? Oatmeal, cream, charcoal and mid-wash denim, finished with brushed silver or gunmetal.
Are they everyday-appropriate? Yes — quiet enough for work and natural in daylight photos. It is a styling lens, not a permanent color change.

Understanding Your Prescription
-
Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes
-
SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
-
BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
-
DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:
-
CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
-
AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
