Quick Answer
Moon Satin Mist Grey Contact Lenses are a quiet everyday grey—a soft mid-tone veil that cools the iris and blends gently enough to read as better light, not a costume lens.
What the Shade Looks Like
Up close, the base is a misty mid-grey—not silver, not blue. Pigment sits in an ultra-fine micro-dot scatter that reads as a smooth satin veil rather than a printed pattern. The center deepens into charcoal around the pupil, and the edge dissolves into your natural iris line with no hard ring.
What to Wear With Grey
1. Soft Daylight Neutrals. Oatmeal linen, cream knit, stone-washed denim, brushed silver hoops, bare-skin makeup.
2. City Contrast. Black slip dress or charcoal wide-leg trousers with a white poplin shirt; cool metals like pewter and gunmetal make grey sharper.
3. Warm Against Cool. Chocolate leather jacket, camel coat or a rust knit—warm clothing pushes the cool grey forward.
Where They Fit
Natural-light settings suit it best: workdays, brunch, travel photos, café afternoons, low-key dates. It softens a party or cosplay look too, as long as the styling stays clean.
Everyday Wear: Yes
Yes—this one can live in daily rotation. The blend is soft and the tone muted, so nothing announces itself. Very warm indoor light can flatten the grey; daylight is where it comes alive.

Understanding Your Prescription
-
Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes
-
SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
-
BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
-
DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:
-
CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
-
AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
