Quick Answer

Moon Melt Chocolate Brown Contact Lenses are a deep, softly diffused brown that blends into the iris instead of sitting on top of it. If you want everyday brown depth without a hard edge, this is the pair.

What the Shade Looks Like

Up close, the center is a saturated chocolate brown with the quiet depth of dark cocoa. It doesn’t stay flat: the color lightens outward and dissolves through a fine, evenly spaced dot pattern, so the edge feathers into the iris instead of ending in a ring. There is no heavy outer rim and no hard line — just a gradual fade from a dense center to a soft melt. That blend is the whole story, and it’s why the shade sits so easily in daylight.

What to Wear With Chocolate Brown

1. Soft glam neutrals. Cream ribbed tank, camel wool blazer, ecru denim, brushed gold hoops, satin nude lip.

2. Chocolate on chocolate. Espresso leather jacket over an ivory silk slip dress, tortoiseshell sunglasses, small silver studs.

3. Cool contrast. Slate grey knit, black tailored trousers, burgundy lip. Cool tones push the brown deeper and slightly moodier.

Where They Fit

Brunch, the office, a museum afternoon, a long travel day, a dinner where phones come out. For a party or a cosplay look, they read as a soft base rather than the statement.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes — this is a brown lens made for regular rotation, not one-night styling. The soft melt stays calm in daylight and under office lighting. It’s less of a fit if you want a dramatic ringed circle for photos.

FAQ

What color are these lenses? A deep chocolate brown at the center that fades to a lighter warm brown through a fine dot texture.

What should I pair with brown contact lenses? Cream, camel, ivory and gold for soft glam; espresso and black for depth.

Can I wear them daily? Yes — that’s their strength. Skip them if you want an obvious rim or a costume-style ring.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
