Quick answer

Moon Blossom Blue Contact Lenses give you a soft, smoky blue iris with a fine dot-mesh texture and no hard rim — blue contact lenses that flatter a bare, minimal-makeup face.

What the Shade Looks Like

The lens opens with a clear center, then builds into a fine, even dot mesh — tiny pixels rather than drawn lines or spokes. The blue is mid-toned and slightly smoky, cool but not icy, with a faint grey-teal cast mid-iris that lifts into a milky blue near the edge. There is no dark ring, so the rim feathers out instead of outlining the eye; on, it reads as a hazy blue veil over your own color. The finish is matte-soft, with no gloss or mirrored highlight.

What to Wear With Blue

1. Soft neutral daylight. Oatmeal linen shirt, cream ribbed knit, light grey wide-leg trousers, small gold hoops and a sheer skin tint. Cool blue against warm neutrals looks calm, never costumey.

2. Washed denim. A light chambray shirt over faded straight jeans and a white tee. Keep metal to brushed silver and add a tan leather belt so the blue reads as texture, not a color block.

3. Evening minimal. Black slip dress or charcoal blazer, silver drops, glossy nude lip, hair slicked back. The blue becomes the only cool note in an all-black look.

Where They Fit

Office days, coffee runs, travel photos, birthday dinners — the soft blend holds up in daylight and stays quiet in group shots. For a party or a cosplay look, let the lens carry the blue and keep the rest of the makeup clean.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, with one note: bright direct sun shows the dot mesh and deepens the blue, while indoor light keeps it subtle. Great for daily wear and quiet evenings; it is not a stage-level color change.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
