Misty Blue Mixed-Blood Lens
The Designer’s Take:
Capture the chill of a winter sky with the Misty Blue lens. This isn’t a jarring, electric blue; it is a soft, powdery azure mixed with hints of steel grey and a touch of pale gold near the pupil. This “Mixed-Blood” design is crafted to turn even the darkest brown eyes into a convincing, light-reflecting blue that looks born, not bought.
The design relies on a delicate, fibrous pattern that mimics the complexity of a real blue iris. The outer rim is a soft, hazy denim blue that transitions into a crystalline ice-blue center. A subtle inner starburst of pale yellow/beige helps blend the lens with your natural pupil color, adding depth and preventing a “flat” appearance.
Makeup & Styling Guide:
This lens creates a striking, angelic, or sometimes fierce look, depending on how you style it. It brings an immediate brightness to the face.
-
The Vibe: Dreamy, romantic, and slightly melancholic or fierce “Ice Princess.” Perfect for soft glam or high-impact contrast looks.
-
Makeup Pairing: To make the blue pop, use warm contrasts like copper, bronze, or peach eyeshadows. Alternatively, lean into the icy theme with frosted whites, silvers, and cool-toned highlighters. A soft brown eyeliner keeps the look romantic, while black liner makes it piercing.
Why You Need This:
-
True “Baby Blue” Tone: Achieves that coveted light blue eye color without looking artificial or cartoonish.
-
Soft-Focus Edge: The lack of a harsh dark ring means the color melts into your eye, creating a soft, hazy effect.
-
Instant Brightening: The light tones reflect light beautifully, making your eyes look wider, awake, and incredibly clear.

Understanding Your Prescription
-
Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes
-
SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
-
BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
-
DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:
-
CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
-
AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
