Quick Answer
Mist Peony Azure Blue Contact Lenses are the quiet kind of blue: one even wash of azure with a soft edge. Think calm daytime accent, not costume color.
What the Shade Looks Like
In the close-up the blue is clear azure, not gray and not teal. It sits full and even across the lens, with no dot matrix, no mesh and no printed graphic. Nothing hard-lines the outer edge; the blue thins and softens where it nears the iris line, so the edge stays airy.
What to Wear With Blue
1. Light denim and cream. Light-wash straight jeans, a cream ribbed tee, silver hoops — cool denim echoes the blue, cream keeps it from going cold.
2. Charcoal, navy and silk. For evening, a charcoal blazer over a navy silk cami with gunmetal studs and dark gray trousers.
3. Camel, ivory and gold. A camel trench over an ivory knit with brushed gold hoops and a tan leather bag.
Where They Fit
Coffee runs, desk days, campus, travel photos and low-key parties. They also work under a wig or bold liner for cosplay, but they do not need a costume.
Everyday Wear: Yes
Yes. The even field keeps the look calm in daylight, so work, errands and minimal-makeup photos all suit them. For a high-contrast night look, the finish stays soft rather than loud.

Understanding Your Prescription
-
Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes
-
SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
-
BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
-
DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:
-
CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
-
AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
