Quick Answer
Milk Tea Amber Brown Contact Lenses are a warm, softly blended brown that flatters most skin tones and works as an everyday pair — deeper than your natural iris, never painted on.
What the Shade Looks Like
In the close-up, the lens reads as a warm tea brown with a gentle amber lean. The color opens at the pupil, softens through the center, then settles into a deeper mid-brown. There is no dot pattern, no graphic fleck and no dark outer rim, just a smooth diffused melt that keeps the edge natural.
What to Wear With Brown Contact Lenses
1. Oatmeal Linen and Denim. A cream ribbed knit, straight-leg jeans, tan loafers and small gold hoops keep the eye color as the focus.
2. Espresso Silk and Silver. A chocolate silk slip dress, a beige blazer and brushed silver rings pull out the amber.
3. Charcoal and Camel. A soft grey turtleneck under a camel coat with nude rose lips reads polished at the office.
Where They Fit
Slow brunch mornings, café afternoons, office days and daylight portraits suit them. Cosplay or party styling also works when you want soft natural eyes rather than a dramatic effect.
Everyday Wear: Yes
Yes — this is an easy daily pair. It pairs well with light makeup and daylight, and it stays subtle, so it is not the pick for an obvious color change.

Understanding Your Prescription
-
Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes
-
SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
-
BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
-
DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:
-
CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
-
AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
