Quick Answer
Milan Mist Cocoa Brown Contact Lenses are a warm cocoa brown with a fine dot mesh and a slim, deeper rim — the pair that finishes a nearly bare face. If you want brown contact lenses that read natural in daylight, this is the quiet match.
What the Shade Looks Like
The base is a soft milk-cocoa brown, warm rather than ashy, with a faint pumpkin glow at the center. From there the tone deepens into a richer chocolate toward the edge. A fine dot mesh covers the iris in an even, velvety grain — no glitter, no graphic print. A soft gloss highlight sits over the pupil, and a slim deeper cocoa rim traces the outer circle, giving the eye a tidy, outlined look.
What to Wear With Brown
-
Clean-girl neutrals. An ivory knit, ecru denim, an oat trench, small gold hoops. Glossy skin, brushed brows, clear lip.
-
Tailored work. Charcoal blazer, white tank, navy wide-leg trousers, silver watch.
-
Evening warmth. Chocolate satin slip, camel coat, gold chain, bronze shadow.
Where They Fit
Desk days, coffee runs, long layovers, dinner with friends, soft-light photos. They look polished in a mirror selfie and calm in a travel shot. At a party they are the subtle option — the pair you wear when the outfit is doing the talking.
Everyday Wear: Yes
Yes, with one note. The brown is deep and natural-looking, so it flatters bare skin and neutral makeup in daylight. If you want bright contrast or a light honey tone, this will feel too quiet.

Understanding Your Prescription
-
Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes
-
SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
-
BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
-
DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:
-
CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
-
AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
