Quick Answer

Midsummer Foxglove Purple Contact Lenses are a vivid violet purple lens with a fine dotted mesh and a gently deepened outer rim. If you want purple that photographs clearly and still works with a normal wardrobe, this is a strong candidate.

What the Shade Looks Like

The base is a true, saturated purple — cooler than plum, bluer than amethyst, never washed out. Color builds from a pale lavender halo around the center opening into a dense mid-violet, then deepens again at the edge, so the rim reads soft rather than hard.

The texture is an even dot-matrix mesh across the whole surface. It blurs at conversation distance and stays clearly visible in a close-up, which is what keeps the violet from looking flat. There is no printed graphic, just mesh and tonal transition.

What to Wear With Purple

1. Charcoal and silver. A grey wool blazer, charcoal tee, black jeans, silver hoops. Cool metal echoes the blue lean in the violet.

2. Lilac, cream, and gold. A lilac cardigan over a cream slip, wide-leg trousers, tan loafers, small gold hoops. Tonal and easy for brunch or the office.

3. Black leather and deep denim. Leather jacket, black tank, dark indigo denim, slim silver chain. This is the concert pairing.

Where They Fit

Errands, casual Fridays, and creative offices handle the violet easily. Travel, parties, and photo shoots are where it looks most at home, and cosplay styling is a natural fit.

Everyday Wear: Yes

It works daily when the rest of the look stays simple: bare skin, neutral lips, denim, one metal tone. It is less of a fit for conservative workplaces or anyone wanting an undetectable tint.

FAQ

What color are these lenses? A saturated violet purple — pale lavender near the center, dense mid-violet through the body, a deepened rim at the edge.

What should I wear with purple contact lenses? Cool neutrals: charcoal, grey, cream, black, deep denim, finished with silver or gold.

Can I wear them every day? Yes, if you like a bold violet and keep makeup quiet. Skip them for formal settings.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
