Quick Answer

Marina Azure Blue Contact Lenses are a vivid azure blue with a fine dotted mesh and a slightly deeper rim. They read bright and editorial in photos, a touch softer in real daylight.

What the Shade Looks Like

In the close-up, the center opens pale, then builds into a saturated azure blue made of tiny, evenly spaced dots rather than a flat wash. The dots stay fine through the middle and tighten near the edge, so the rim reads soft and slightly deeper instead of drawn on. A quiet highlight sits over the mesh, giving the blue a glassy look rather than a matte one.

What to Wear With Blue

1. Sunlit neutrals. Crisp white denim, a washed chambray shirt, tan leather sandals. Keep everything else quiet and let the blue lead.

2. Cool evening tailoring. Charcoal wool trousers, navy silk, brushed silver jewelry. Skip yellow gold — it fights the cool cast.

3. Soft pastels. Powder blue cotton, lilac linen, dove grey knit. Low contrast makes the blue look brighter.

Where They Fit

Brunch, rooftop dinners, concerts, travel photos, and cosplay shoots all handle this much blue. At the office, wear them with a neutral blazer and minimal makeup.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes — this is an everyday pair if you enjoy a visible eye. Keep the base light, mascara clean, and it slots into a workday without fuss. For a formal meeting, a softer grey would blend in more.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
