Siren’s Gaze – The Sea Mist Green Mixed-Blood Lens
The Designer’s Take:
Step into the mystical with a lens that captures the elusive color of a foggy ocean morning. The Sea Mist Green is not your typical bright green lens; it is a sophisticated, muted blend of teal, grey, and soft jade. This “Mixed-Blood” design is engineered to completely transform dark eyes into a light, glassy jewel tone that looks incredibly realistic.
The pattern features a feathered radial design that mimics the natural striations of a human iris. The outer rim is a deep, smoky teal that gently fades into a lighter, misty green center. This lack of a harsh border ring (limbal ring) ensures the look remains soft, dreamy, and high-fashion rather than doll-like.
Makeup & Styling Guide:
This lens is a statement piece that demands a cool, chic aesthetic. It gives off an aura of mystery and elegance.
-
The Vibe: Ethereal, icy, and editorial. Think “Mermaidcore” or “Clean Girl” aesthetic with an edge.
-
Makeup Pairing: Cool tones are your best friend here. Opt for silvers, greys, and taupe eyeshadows. A sharp black winged liner creates a stunning contrast against the misty green iris. For lips, go for a cool-toned pink, mauve, or a sheer gloss to keep the focus on the mesmerizing eye color.
Why You Need This:
-
Unique “Mist” Color: A rare blend of green and grey that looks different in every light—sometimes teal, sometimes jade.
-
Glassy Effect: Creates a translucent, watery look that makes eyes appear bright and alert.
-
Seamless Blend: The feathered pattern ensures a smooth transition from your natural pupil color, avoiding the “sticker on the eye” look.

Understanding Your Prescription
-
Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes
-
SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
-
BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
-
DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:
-
CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
-
AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
