Quick Answer

Lisbon Romantic Brown Contact Lenses are a warm amber brown pair with a fine dotted blend and a soft feathered edge — an everyday brown that reads visibly without looking painted.

What the Shade Looks Like

Up close, the base is a toasted amber brown — warm and slightly honeyed, not flat chocolate. Fine pinprick dots carry color across the lens field, and the pupil-to-center area sits deeper before opening into a lighter mid-field. That transition is why the eye looks lit rather than covered.

There is no hard outer rim. The edge feathers into the natural iris instead of drawing a line, and the surface stays low-shine.

What to Wear With Brown

1. Oat, Camel and Cream. An oatmeal knit, a camel wool coat, an ivory tee, tan suede boots and small gold hoops. Keep the rest quiet so the warm brown leads.

2. Denim and White. Light-wash straight jeans, a crisp cotton shirt with rolled sleeves, a tan leather belt and a canvas tote.

3. Espresso Tonal. A chocolate blazer over an espresso knit, taupe wide-leg trousers and bronze jewelry.

Where They Fit

Desk days, video calls, coffee runs, airport mornings, long dinners. The warm cast photographs well in late-afternoon light and holds up in a group photo without looking costumed. For a party or cosplay look, it sits easily under bolder makeup.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, with one honest note: the brown is visible, not a whisper. It looks most natural in daylight and warm indoor light, and can read heavier in dim rooms. For work and weekends, it is an easy yes.

FAQ

What shade are these brown contact lenses? A warm amber brown with a fine dotted mesh and a soft feathered edge.

What should I wear with them? Warm neutrals — cream, oat, camel, espresso — with light denim and white cotton. Gold flatters amber better than silver.

Can I wear them every day? Yes, if you like a clearly warm brown. They suit daylight and soft indoor light best.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
