Quick Answer

Lisbon Lotus Mist Grey Contact Lenses are soft grey contact lenses with a translucent mid-grey base, a smooth center-to-mid blend, and no printed ring. They give the eye a cooler, quieter finish instead of a costume change. If you want grey that whispers, start here.

What the Shade Looks Like

In the close-up, the base is a clean mid-grey with no blue, green, or brown undertone. The center is slightly lighter, then the grey deepens across the middle of the iris, so the transition sits mid-eye rather than in a tight ring around the pupil. There is no dotted mesh and no drawn outer rim; the grey reads as one smooth veil that softens at the edge. Coverage is full but sheer, so the natural pupil and the daylight catchlight still show.

What to Wear With Grey

Grey borrows the mood of whatever sits next to it. Three directions that work:

  1. Soft neutrals. Oatmeal knit, cream wide-leg denim, camel coat, silver hoops.
  2. Black and silver. Black slip dress, charcoal blazer, black boots, brushed silver rings.
  3. Cool pastels. Pale blue shirt, lilac cardigan, white tee with grey trousers, pearl studs, light makeup.

Where They Fit

Desk days, coffee runs, travel days, and photos where you want softer-looking eyes. They can back a party or cosplay look if the styling stays minimal, but they are not a character lens: no graphic ring, no costume finish.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, with one caveat: these grey contact lenses are made for a subtle grey shift, not a bold new eye color. With light makeup and neutral clothing they read as natural grey in daylight. If you want a lens people notice across the room, this is not it.

FAQ

What color are these grey contact lenses? A translucent mid-grey with a soft center-to-edge fade, no blue or green cast, no hard rim.

What should I wear with grey lenses? Neutrals: oatmeal knit, cream denim, camel, silver. For contrast, black and charcoal.

Can I wear them daily? Yes, for work, errands, and daylight photos, best with light makeup. Skip them if you want an obvious color change.

Contact Lens Care Guidelines

  • We recommend a rub and rinse before soaking soft lenses for a minimum of 6 hours in their container.

  • Don't wear your contact lenses in the shower or while swimming.
  • Don't reuse contact lens solution.

  • Replace your contact lens case every two to three months.
  • Take out your contacts if they are bothering you.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
