Quick Answer

Lisbon Coast Royal Blue Contact Lenses are a vivid, saturated blue with a fine dot mesh and a deeper outer rim. If you want blue contact lenses that stay bold on camera, this pair delivers without looking flat.

What the Shade Looks Like

The base is a bright royal blue. Color moves from a lighter blue near the center into a denser navy band at the rim, so you get a gradient rather than a flat disc. A fine dot mesh covers the surface, tighter at the edge and looser inward, which keeps the blue dimensional. The white highlight in the close-up is the light source, not a printed design. The rim line is clearly defined, with a thin margin of clean lens just outside it.

What to Wear With Blue

1. White cotton and denim. A ribbed white tee or oxford shirt, straight-leg indigo denim, thin silver hoops. Bright white keeps royal blue crisp instead of heavy.

2. Black satin and pewter. A black slip dress or cropped knit, pewter hardware, a leather jacket, gunmetal studs. Saturation reads moody here, close to editorial.

3. Camel wool and gold. A camel coat, cream cashmere, tan leather boots, small gold hoops. Warm neutrals soften the blue and make it feel worn-in.

Where They Fit

Weekend coffee runs, video calls with a plain blouse, travel days where one strong detail does the work, and photo nights where the deep rim holds up under flash. They also suit costume parties and cosplay portraits — styling, not a character.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, with one caveat. Worn with neutral makeup and simple clothing, the saturation reads intentional. Skip them on bare-faced days or with loud prints, where the blue starts to look like a costume.

FAQ

What color are these, exactly? A vivid royal blue with a lighter center and a sharply defined rim.

What should I pair them with? White and denim by day; black satin and pewter at night; camel and gold for warmth.

Are they everyday blue contact lenses? Yes, if the rest of the look stays quiet — bold prints fight the blue.

  • Don't wear your contact lenses in the shower or while swimming.
  • Don't reuse contact lens solution.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
