Quick Answer
Linen Sky Blue Contact Lenses are a sheer, cool blue with a fine dot-matrix mesh that softens near the pupil — an everyday blue, not a costume blue. If you want blue contact lenses that read as a quiet eye accent, start here.
What the Shade Looks Like
The base is a clear daylight blue that thins to a pale wash near the pupil, then deepens slightly as it crosses the iris, so the blend looks gradual rather than banded.
The pattern is a woven dot mesh: tiny blue dots dense enough to read as a solid tint up close and as a soft haze from a normal distance. There’s no hard outer ring, so the blue fades at the edge instead of stopping.
What to Wear With Blue
-
White and washed denim. A white tee or poplin shirt, light straight-leg jeans and silver hoops keep the blue clean and daylight-friendly.
-
Cream knits and oatmeal linen. A soft cream sweater, oatmeal trousers and brushed gold earrings warm the blue instead of fighting it.
-
Charcoal, navy, one warm accent. A grey blazer, navy knit and one coral or cherry shoe keep the look from going flat; keep the jewelry small.
Where They Fit
Desk days, café mornings, travel photos, quiet dinners — daylight flatters this blue more than warm indoor bulbs do.
Everyday Wear: Yes
With bare skin, brow gel and lip balm, it looks like light sitting on the iris. It’s the wrong pick if you want a high-contrast night-out blue.
FAQ
What color are these lenses? A clear daylight blue over a fine dot mesh, palest near the pupil and deeper toward the outer field, with no dark rim.
What pairs with blue contact lenses? White, cream, denim and grey are the easy ones; add a warm accent if the look feels flat.
Are they everyday lenses? Yes, if you like your blue subtle. A smoky eye and heavy liner turn them theatrical.

Understanding Your Prescription
-
Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes
-
SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
-
BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
-
DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:
-
CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
-
AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
