Quick Answer

Linen Ash Grey Contact Lenses are a cool ash grey with a soft outer blend and a scatter of light-catching flecks. They read calmer and cooler, not dramatically different. If you want grey contact lenses that look like styling rather than costume, start here.

What the Shade Looks Like

The base is ash grey with a faint blue undertone, deepest at the center and lighter outward. There is no hard rim — the edge stays diffused, so it melts into a natural iris instead of drawing a line. The detail lives in the surface: fine light-spun flecks scattered across the field.

What to Wear With Grey

1. Soft Neutrals. Oatmeal knit, cream wide-leg trousers, camel coat, brushed gold hoops. Warm fabric keeps the grey from turning icy.

2. Cool Monochrome. Charcoal blazer, grey wool trousers, white tee, silver jewelry, black boots. One cool register, so the flecks are the only sparkle.

3. Evening Glass. Slate satin slip dress, sheer black tights, pearl studs, pewter clutch. Satin keeps the look polished without competing.

Where They Fit

Everyday lenses first: desk days, errands, travel days, brunch photos in daylight. They also suit a wedding-guest look or a dinner where your eyes carry a little more than your makeup. Cosplay or parties: keep styling minimal.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes — genuinely wearable on a normal day. The blend is soft and the grey sits close to a natural cool eye, so no-makeup makeup, mascara, and tinted balm are enough. It is too quiet for full stage glam or heavy graphic liner.

FAQ

What color is the shade? Ash grey with a faint blue undertone and fine light flecks across the iris — not flat opaque grey, not bright silver.

What do I wear with them? Cool neutrals and monochromes — oatmeal, cream, charcoal, slate — plus silver or brushed gold. Rust and orange fight the cool undertone.

Can I wear them daily? Yes. The diffused edge stays believable in daylight, and the flecks keep photos from looking flat.

Contact Lens Care Guidelines

  • We recommend a rub and rinse before soaking soft lenses for a minimum of 6 hours in their container.

  • Don't wear your contact lenses in the shower or while swimming.
  • Don't reuse contact lens solution.

  • Replace your contact lens case every two to three months.
  • Take out your contacts if they are bothering you.
  • Never use saliva as a wetting agent.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
