Quick answer

Lakeside Fern Green Contact Lenses are a misty sage green with a warm amber core. If you want green contact lenses that look like a subtle shift in eye color rather than a costume lens, this is the pair to reach for. In daylight the green is clearly visible; indoors it settles into a softer hazel-green.

What the Shade Looks Like

In the close-up, the center is a warm amber-brown that opens quickly into green. The transition is a blend, not a line, so the green seems to sit under the iris texture instead of on top of it. Toward the outer iris the tone softens into pale grey-green and fades away with no dark rim and no defined ring. There is no printed dot or mesh pattern either — the surface reads smooth and softly diffused.

What to Wear With Green

  1. Cream and oatmeal. An oversized knit, straight-leg ecru denim, brushed gold hoops. Warm neutrals let the amber center read.
  2. Chocolate brown. A cocoa silk slip, a leather belt, small bronze studs. Brown echoes the warm core and keeps the eye cohesive.
  3. Soft grey. A charcoal blazer, grey wool trousers, a plain silver ring. Cool greys push the green edge forward.

Where They Fit

These are daytime lenses first: a desk, a window seat, a weekend market, a bright natural-light photo. They also hold up with a dark smoky eye for a party or a cosplay look — just keep everything else simple so the green stays the story.

Everyday Wear: Yes

A clear yes, with one condition: keep the makeup minimal. A tinted brow, sheer lip, and clean skin let the green look like a natural iris color. Heavy liner and glitter tip it into stage territory, which is fun but not everyday.

FAQ

What color are these green contact lenses? A soft sage green with a warm amber center and a pale grey-green outer edge — no black rim.

What should I wear with them? Cream, oatmeal, chocolate brown, and soft grey. Warm neutrals flatter the amber core; cool greys make the green edge pop.

Can I wear them every day? Yes, with light makeup. They read green in daylight and quieter indoors.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
