Quick Answer

Kyoto Silk Caramel Brown Contact Lenses is a warm brown lens with a lighter caramel-olive center and a soft, ringless blend that reads as everyday warmth, not costume.

What the Shade Looks Like

Up close, the outer field is a medium warm brown, close to toasted hazelnut, and the middle lifts into caramel with a faint olive cast, so the pupil area looks lighter than the edge.

The change is gradual. There is no dark outer ring and no dot or mesh texture sitting on the surface — the brown eases toward the edge, which keeps the effect quiet in daylight.

What to Wear With Brown

1. Soft neutrals. Oatmeal knit, cream tee, camel coat, tan leather loafers and brushed gold hoops — warm tones echo the caramel center.

2. Denim and taupe. Mid-wash straight-leg jeans, a taupe blazer, a white tee and a silver watch; cool fabrics balance the warmth for office days.

3. Evening warmth. A chocolate satin slip dress, bronze shadow, rosewood lip and small gold hoops. Keep the eye light so the lighter center still shows.

Where They Fit

Coffee runs, desk days, weekend travel, dinner plans and casual photos. They also work for a party or cosplay night when you want warmer eyes without a cartoon effect.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes — this is an everyday brown. It looks best in daylight with light makeup: tinted moisturizer, cream blush, clear brow gel. In dim light the lighter center settles down. If you want an obvious color change or a defined rim, this is not that lens.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
