Quick answer

Kyoto Quiet Cocoa Brown Contact Lenses are a subtle, natural-looking brown with a clear center-to-mid blend and no hard outer rim. They are brown contact lenses for people who want their eyes to look rested, not redesigned.

What the Shade Looks Like

Up close, the color is a warm milk-cocoa brown: lighter through the middle, deeper toward the outer field. The pupil area stays clean and open, then the tone feathers outward with no rim, which is why the edge melts into a natural dark iris. The surface reads smooth and diffused — no star sparkle, no ring, no graphic print, just a soft wash of brown.

What to Wear With Brown Contact Lenses

1. Warm neutrals. Cream ribbed knit, camel wool coat, ecru denim, tan loafers, small gold hoops.

2. Cool contrast. Charcoal blazer, white tee, black trousers, silver studs, black leather bag.

3. Evening polish. Black silk slip dress, cropped leather jacket, rose-gold jewelry, nude lip.

Where They Fit

Desk days, classes, coffee runs, travel photos and low-key dinners — anywhere you want awake eyes without obvious makeup. They also suit party or cosplay looks that call for a natural brown base rather than a bold color.

Everyday Wear: Yes

This is an everyday pair, not a statement lens. It works for work and weekends; skip it if you want a dramatic color change.

FAQ

What color are these brown contact lenses? A warm cocoa brown with a clear center-to-mid transition and no hard outer rim.

What do I wear with them? Warm neutrals and gold, or black, charcoal and white with silver. Both read intentional.

Can I wear them daily? Yes for everyday styling. Keep expectations natural — this is an eye-brightener, not a color swap.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
