Quick Answer

Kyoto Haze Azure Blue Contact Lenses are a vivid azure lens with a bright center, a fine dotted mesh, and a deeper blue rim. If you’re shopping blue contact lenses and want color that looks intentional, start here.

What the Shade Looks Like

The base is a cool, slightly cyan azure, never gray. Light stays open around the pupil, then tone builds outward in tiny, evenly spaced dots, so the transition graduates instead of banding — that mesh keeps the surface airy rather than painted. A soft highlight catches the upper curve, and the outer rim sits one shade deeper, framing the blue without a hard black line.

What to Wear With Blue

Blue styles easily because half your closet already speaks to it.

1. Cream and gold. Oatmeal knit, ivory wide-leg trousers, tan loafers, small gold hoops.

2. Black and silver. Black slip dress or a fitted tee, leather jacket, silver chain, gray denim.

3. Tonal blue. A chambray shirt over a pale blue striped button-down, white sneakers.

Where They Fit

Photo days, concerts, festivals, and cosplay looks hold up with this much azure; it survives flash and colored stage light. They also work for dinner dates, guest-of-a-wedding outfits, and travel days when you want your eyes doing the work.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, with one honest note: the pigmentation is vivid, so it pulls focus. Keep the colors around it neutral at work and it reads polished; on a slow Sunday, let it be the one bold thing against a gray sweatshirt.

FAQ

What shade of blue are these lenses? A vivid azure — bright and slightly cyan in the middle, deepening toward a cobalt-edged rim, with fine dot texture throughout.

Which outfits pair best with them? Cream and gold for daytime, black and silver at night, and layered tonal blues for a coordinated look.

Are these blue contact lenses good for everyday wear? Yes. They’re vivid, so keep the rest of the outfit simple and let the blue be the statement.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
