Quick Answer

Jade Ink Green Contact Lenses give you a deep, cool green iris edged in dark charcoal, and the effect reads natural in daylight rather than stagey.

What the Shade Looks Like

In the close-up, the green runs rich across the middle of the lens and fades gradually inward, so no hard line interrupts the blend. The defining detail is the edge: a charcoal-black rim circles the outer boundary and gives the iris a clean, inked outline. The surface looks smooth rather than dotted, so the green reads as one soft wash. Because the color fills the whole field, the green carries the look and the dark rim keeps it grounded.

What to Wear With Green

1. Cream and oatmeal. A linen shirt, ivory knit, or soft cream tee keeps the green botanical; add gold studs and a tan belt.

2. Black and silver. Black denim, a fitted tee, and silver hoops push the dark rim forward after dark.

3. Denim and rust. Mid-wash jeans with a terracotta sweater flatter the green; keep metals warm with brass.

Where They Fit

Office days, weekend markets, and daylight portraits all suit green contact lenses like these. For a party or a cosplay look they add a quiet supernatural edge without full character makeup. Keep the rest simple: tinted balm, brushed brows, mascara.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, this is an everyday pair. The green reads deep but believable in normal light, and the dark rim adds definition without looking drawn on. It looks strongest in daylight and casual settings; for a formal event the edge can feel dramatic, so I would swap to something softer.

FAQ

Are these really green? Yes — a deep green center that lightens gradually, finished with a charcoal-black rim at the edge.

What outfits work best? Cream, oatmeal, and linen keep it soft; black with silver makes the green and the dark rim look sharper.

Do green contact lenses work for everyday looks? For most everyday plans, yes. They are easiest in daylight and casual settings and can read strong at black-tie.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
