Quick Answer

Iris Mist Gray Blue Contact Lenses are a smoky gray-blue with a soft, diffused rim — an easy everyday pair, not a loud costume blue.

What the Shade Looks Like

In the close-up, the base is a translucent gray-blue with a milky, washed-out center. The tone deepens gently toward a slim slate rim that stays smoky instead of black.

The pattern is a fine dot mesh: tiny pigment points that melt together, so the blend looks blurred, not banded. A fixed glossy highlight sits near the lower rim with a small arc of pin dots at the edge, giving the surface a soft, lit-from-within sheen in daylight.

What to Wear With Gray Blue

1. Cream and denim. Oatmeal cable knit, light-wash straight jeans, suede ankle boots and small silver hoops.

2. Charcoal and leather. A charcoal slip dress under a black leather jacket, slim black trousers and one brushed gold piece.

3. Navy and pale gray. A navy blazer over a white shirt, a dove-gray slip skirt and gray suede loafers.

Where They Fit

Desk days, long layovers and Saturday brunch with almost no makeup — gray-blue suits all three. Low light keeps it soft and moody, and it photographs naturally in daylight. A party or a cosplay night works too: a silver slip or a little black dress keeps the mood quiet.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes — this is a blue that reads everyday when the makeup stays light and the outfit stays neutral. Heavy liner swallows the gray-blue, so keep the eye bare or add one coat of mascara. Skip it on days you want a saturated color statement.

FAQ

What color are these blue contact lenses? A smoky gray-blue: a milky blue-gray center, a slate edge and a slim soft rim. Daylight brings the blue forward; indoors it leans gray.

What should I wear with them? Cream, denim, charcoal, navy and pale gray. Silver and brushed gold both work.

Can I wear them every day? Yes — with no-makeup makeup and neutral pieces, they stay subtle at work and still show up in photos.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
