Quick Answer
Ink Bloom Black Contact Lenses are an inky black lens with a bold locked rim and a fine dot mesh, so one dark detail finishes a nearly bare face.
What the Shade Looks Like
The base is an inky black with a faint warm depth around the pupil, so it never looks flat or gray. Outward, the color breaks into a dense halftone dot mesh — tiny printed points that blur the transition instead of drawing a hard line. A thick locked rim keeps the outer circle crisp and graphic. In the close-up a bright highlight sits at the center, which gives the lens its wet look. Up close you see the print; from a normal distance it reads as a quietly darkened eye.
What to Wear With Black
1. Neutral tailoring. Ivory silk shirt, camel wool blazer, slim black trousers and brushed silver hoops — matte fabrics, cool metals.
2. Clean girl off-duty. Gray ribbed tank, cream straight-leg denim and thin gold huggies with slicked-back hair and glossy skin.
3. Quiet evening. Black satin slip, cropped leather jacket, one silver ring; or a charcoal wool coat over a white tee.
Where They Fit
Desk days, calls, coffee runs and travel days when you want polish with zero effort. They also hold up in photos, so they turn up in clean girl beauty shots and in party or cosplay styling when you want a dramatic eye without a full character makeup.
Everyday Wear: Yes
Yes — this works as a daily look. The near-black base stays quiet in daylight and the fine mesh keeps the edge from reading costume-like at a desk. Skip them when you want a totally invisible, no-makeup eye; the bold rim is meant to be seen.
FAQ
What color are these black contact lenses? A deep inked black with warm brown-black depth at the center and a solid outer rim — no blue, gray or green cast.
What should I pair with them? Neutral tailoring — ivory, camel, cream, charcoal — with silver or gold huggies, glossy skin and a bare lip.
Can I wear them every day? Yes, if you like a defined eye. They read dressier than a natural brown, which makes them a styling choice rather than a subtle tint.

Understanding Your Prescription
-
Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes
-
SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
-
BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
-
DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:
-
CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
-
AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
