Quick answer

Honeyed Amber Brown Contact Lenses are warm brown contact lenses with a fine dotted mesh, golden undertones, and a soft darker rim — polished, not costume.

What the Shade Looks Like

In the close-up, the lens reads as a warm amber brown with golden undertones. A small dark pupil zone melts into the amber-brown middle instead of cutting hard. A fine dotted mesh runs across the colored area, giving the tone a blurred, creamy softness. The outer edge is a defined darker brown ring with a soft border. A white highlight sits on the surface and reads as a normal catchlight.

What to Wear With Brown

1. Soft neutral daytime. Camel wool, cream ribbed knit, ecru denim, brushed gold hoops to echo the amber undertone.

2. Warm evening depth. Chocolate satin or a deep burgundy blazer, matte bronze shadow, glossy brown lip.

3. Clean contrast. Ivory poplin shirt under black leather, silver rings, a red-brown lip. Cool black makes warm amber brown read brighter.

Where They Fit

Office days, campus, brunch photos, and travel portraits. For parties or cosplay styling, the amber tone works with witchy, cottagecore, or soft fantasy looks when the makeup stays warm rather than icy.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes. Medium coverage and a soft rim keep this believable at a desk or on a grocery run. A cooler tone does more for stark black-and-white minimalism or hard graphic liner.

  • Don't reuse contact lens solution.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
