Quick Answer

Haze Milan Mocha Brown Contact Lenses are a warm, luminous brown with a golden-beige center and a soft darker rim. For brown contact lenses that add warmth without a costume feel, this is the shade I reach for.

What the Shade Looks Like

In the close-up, the clear pupil opening melts into a light golden-beige center and fades to deeper mocha brown at the mid-iris. The print is a fine radial starburst over a subtle dotted mesh, so it reads soft rather than painted on. A defined darker ring traces the outer edge, and a bright highlight catches the surface in the shot. Coverage stays moderate, and your own iris still shows through.

What to Wear With Brown

1. Cream, camel, and gold. Camel coat, ivory knit, tan loafers, small gold hoops. It ties those warm tones together.

2. Chocolate and charcoal. Chocolate leather jacket, faded charcoal denim, black tee, silver earrings. Cool contrast makes the golden center pop.

3. Olive and rust. Olive suede, rust silk scarf, burgundy nails, bronze jewelry — my fall palette.

Where They Fit

Anywhere you want a warmer, more awake look: video calls, brunch photos, long flights, wedding guest dresses, and low-key cosplay styling.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, this is an everyday shade. The tint is moderate, so it reads as a subtle warm wash rather than a bold statement. It just will not look dramatic on very dark irises.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
