Quick answer

Harbor Light Cobalt Blue Contact Lenses are a clear, cool blue with a light center and a soft outer fade — the kind of blue contact lenses that look like weather, not makeup.

What the Shade Looks Like

Up close, the base is a true cobalt blue with a watery lightness in the middle. The center stays pale and open, the blue builds through the mid-zone, then loosens at the outer edge until there is no hard ring at all. The surface is smooth — no dot pattern, no mesh, no sparkle — and the finish is soft rather than shiny. It reads like water, not print.

What to Wear With Blue

1. Oatmeal and white with silver. An oatmeal linen shirt, white denim, and small silver hoops keep the blue feeling like daylight.

2. Camel and cream with gold. A camel coat, a cream turtleneck, and one gold ring keep the contrast warm against the cool blue.

3. Charcoal, black, and navy. A charcoal blazer over a black slip dress, or a navy knit with dark denim, gives the blue more presence.

Where They Fit

Desk days, coffee runs, weekend travel, and daylight portraits. Styled for a party or a cosplay look, the shade holds up without turning theatrical.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes. The blend is quiet enough for work, errands, and photos, and it never announces itself as a costume lens. Keep eye makeup light — mascara, a soft brown liner — and the blue stays believable. Heavy black liner or full glam makes it read louder than it does in natural daylight.

FAQ

What color are these lenses? A clear cobalt blue with a pale center and a soft outer fade — cooler than grey-blue, softer than navy.

What should I wear with blue contact lenses? Neutrals: oatmeal and white by day, charcoal and navy after dark, camel and gold for warmth.

Can I wear them every day? Yes — with minimal makeup they read soft and lived-in, so they work for desk days as easily as weekends.

  • We recommend a rub and rinse before soaking soft lenses for a minimum of 6 hours in their container.
  • Don't wear contact lenses overnight.
  • Don't wear your contact lenses in the shower or while swimming.
  • Don't reuse contact lens solution.

  • Replace your contact lens case every two to three months.
  • Take out your contacts if they are bothering you.
  • Never use saliva as a wetting agent.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
