Quick answer
Halftone Midnight Black Contact Lenses are a soft, dotted black pair for 2000s pop-glam eyes that read as makeup, not a mask — dark in the center, soft at the edge.
What the Shade Looks Like
The base is a true black that stays dark from the pupil through the middle, then relaxes toward the edge. The texture is a fine dot mesh, packed close enough to read like a halftone print instead of flat ink. There is no defined outer rim, so the edge softens and blends out rather than stopping at a drawn line.
What to Wear With Black
1. Frosted Blue + Baby Tee. Pale frosted blue shadow, thin brows, a white baby tee and low-rise straight jeans.
2. Denim on Denim. A cropped denim jacket, pastel cami, low-rise bootcuts and layered silver chains.
3. All-Black Night Out. Black slip dress, a mesh long-sleeve, leather jacket, silver rings and star stickers.
Where They Fit
Easy for class, coffee runs, workdays and travel photos, and they land at parties, photo booths, Y2K nights and cosplay looks that want a graphic eye.
Everyday Wear: Yes
Yes, with one condition: keep the rest of your face soft. A tinted balm, thin brows and slicked-back hair keep them casual on a Tuesday. Add frosted shadow and heavy liner and they become a night-out lens.
FAQ
Is the shade a solid black? It reads black with a fine dot mesh, and the feathered edge keeps it soft.
What pairs well with black contact lenses? Frosted blue or silver shadow and a glossy pink lip; black slip dresses and silver jewelry after dark.
Can I wear them during the day? Yes, if your makeup stays minimal. If you go bare-faced most days, save them for nights out.

Understanding Your Prescription
-
Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes
-
SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
-
BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
-
DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:
-
CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
-
AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
