Quick answer
Gloss Veil Grey Contact Lenses are a cool, misty grey pair with a soft dot-mesh finish and Y2K flash-photo energy. They are grey contact lenses for everyday edge without costume.
What the Shade Looks Like
The close-up shows a cool mist grey base, not flat silver. The center is lighter near the pupil, deepening toward a soft outer rim. A fine dot mesh runs across, so the color reads diffused, not solid. A clean highlight sits on the surface, and the finish is satin, not wet.
What to Wear With Grey
-
Y2K Denim and Frost — low-rise bootcut jeans, a white cropped tee, a silver chain belt, and frosty highlighter. Grey keeps the look cool, not sweet.
-
Afterparty Slip — a charcoal satin slip dress, a thin cardigan, glossy lips, and silver hoops. The misty grey adds flash-photo edge.
-
Soft Grunge — a grey ribbed tank, a black leather jacket, low-rise cargos, and clear gloss. Add a silver ring to echo the tone.
Where They Fit
Wear them on weekends, to parties, and in flash photos. For work, keep the face neutral with a grey sweater and gloss balm. For travel and cosplay, they add a cool editorial edge.
Everyday Wear: Yes
They work daily if you like a soft grey edge and simple makeup. They read more styled than bare, so save them for weekends if your office is conservative.

Understanding Your Prescription
-
Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes
-
SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
-
BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
-
DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:
-
CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
-
AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
