Quick answer

Glass Provence Red Contact Lenses are a bold, saturated red with a fine dot mesh and a crisp crimson rim. It is a statement shade, so save it for nights out, shoots, and costume looks.

What the Shade Looks Like

The base is a bright true red with no brown or rust undercast. The center reads slightly lighter, a warm scarlet, then deepens into a clean crimson ring that outlines the iris. A fine dot mesh runs evenly across the surface, keeping the pigment airy instead of flat. A soft gloss highlight sits near the top, and the rim stays crisp against the white of the eye.

What to Wear With Red

Red lenses are loud, so I balance them with texture.

1. Night-out black. Black satin slip dress, sheer tights, silver hoops, cropped leather jacket.

2. Cream and camel. Cream ribbed knit, camel trench, straight-leg denim, brushed gold jewelry — warm neutrals keep the red intentional.

3. Cherry on cherry. Burgundy silk scarf, oxblood bag, cherry lip — keep the fabrics matte.

Where They Fit

Concerts, birthday dinners, Halloween, convention weekends, and cosplay shoots with a red wig and dark liner all suit this shade, and it photographs well in low light with flash. Styling red contact lenses for daytime can work with the neutrals above; in conservative settings they read as costume.

Everyday Wear: No

These are not a daily pair for me. They land when the look is deliberately bold — a black dress, a red wig, a party — and feel out of place at a desk or a quiet family dinner. For daily red, pick something smokier; this one is unapologetically vivid.

FAQ

What color are these red contact lenses? A vivid true red with a lighter scarlet center, a defined crimson rim, and a fine dot mesh.

What should I style them with? Black satin or leather for nights, cream and camel for daytime, cherry and oxblood for a full red theme.

Can I wear them every day? Yes, whenever you want a bold eye — most people treat this shade as an occasional pair for nights out.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
