Quick Answer

Glass Dawn Green Contact Lenses are a soft teal-green pair made for everyday wear. If you want green contact lenses that read like good light instead of a special effect, start here.

What the Shade Looks Like

Up close the base is a clear teal green — more lagoon than lawn. The color sits in a fine dotted mesh across the mid-iris, then thins toward the edge, so the outer line fades into the natural iris instead of stopping at a hard rim. A small clear zone keeps the center open over the pupil, and there’s no heavy black ring or mirrored shine — just a watery green field with a soft, low-gloss finish.

What to Wear With Green

1. Cream and denim. An ivory knit, mid-blue straight-leg jeans, a canvas tote, brushed silver studs.

2. Slate and camel. A slate-grey blazer over a camel turtleneck, navy trousers, small gold hoops.

3. Olive and bone. An olive utility jacket, bone-white trousers, a thin tan belt.

Where They Fit

Desk days, coffee runs, weekend travel, and casual portraits — anywhere a quiet green eye is enough. They also work for a party or cosplay look when you want a cool-toned fantasy eye, but the natural read is stronger.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, with one note: they look best in daylight with minimal makeup — brown mascara, tinted balm, brushed brows. In dim indoor light the teal goes deeper, so skip them if you want something invisible.

FAQ

What color are these lenses? A cool teal green — blue-green in daylight, deeper toward the outer edge, clear at the center.

What should I wear with green contact lenses? Cream, denim, slate grey, camel, and olive, with silver for cool contrast or gold for warmth.

Can I wear them every day? Yes — they look natural in daylight and are quietest with simple makeup.

  • Don't wear your contact lenses in the shower or while swimming.
  • Don't reuse contact lens solution.

  • Replace your contact lens case every two to three months.
  • Take out your contacts if they are bothering you.
  • Never use saliva as a wetting agent.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
