Quick answer

Glass Dawn Blue Contact Lenses are a cool mid-blue made for minimal-makeup days. If you want blue contact lenses that look styled rather than theatrical, start here.

What the Shade Looks Like

Up close it is a clean mid-blue — not neon, not icy. The color is deepest at the pupil and opens into a lighter, slightly smoky blue across the middle of the iris, so the eye reads dimensional instead of flat.

A fine dotted mesh softens where the blue meets your natural iris, and the outer edge drops into a deeper smoke tone that frames the eye. In daylight the surface stays soft and diffused.

What to Wear With Blue

Let the blue be the loudest thing on your face.

  1. Daylight white. White cotton tee, ecru straight-leg denim, plain sneakers, one silver hoop.
  2. Office polish. Dove-grey knit, charcoal trousers, navy blazer, brushed silver jewelry.
  3. Evening warmth. Camel trench or chocolate leather over cream silk, with brushed gold.

Where They Fit

Desk mornings, coffee runs, daylight portraits and weekend travel — plus parties or cosplay when the rest of the look stays pared back.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, with one condition: the blue is clearly visible, so it suits daily wear if you like an obvious iris. If you want a shade that disappears into your own color, this is not that pair.

FAQ

What color are these blue contact lenses? A mid-blue that darkens toward the pupil and lightens across the iris, edged in deeper smoke.

What should I wear with them? White, cream and grey for daytime; camel, chocolate and brushed gold after dark.

Can I wear them every day? Yes — they lean natural with minimal makeup and style easily for work, travel and photos.

  • Don't wear your contact lenses in the shower or while swimming.
  • Don't reuse contact lens solution.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
