Quick Answer
Glacier Azure Blue Contact Lenses are a sheer, watery blue that blends into the iris like blended shadow — blue contact lenses that read as makeup, not costume.
What the Shade Looks Like
Up close the color is soft and watercolor-smooth. The center stays almost clear around the pupil, a light aqua-azure fills the middle, and the blue fades toward the edge with no hard rim and no obvious mesh. It looks like a diffused wash rather than a printed ring.
What to Wear With Blue
-
Champagne evening. A satin slip dress in champagne, a fine gold chain and a nude lip — warm metal keeps the blue from going cold.
-
Cool tailoring. Charcoal wool blazer, white silk camisole, black trousers, small silver hoops, glowing skin.
-
Soft neutrals. Oatmeal knit, cream denim, tan leather bag, brushed gold studs.
Where They Fit
This is a soft glam lens: blended shadow, fluttery lashes, dewy base. Weddings, prom photos, dinners and studio beauty shoots suit it best, and at the office it reads as a quiet detail with a neutral suit. Cosplay and themed parties work if you want blue out front.
Everyday Wear: Yes
Yes, with one caveat. With jeans, a knit and minimal makeup the diffused edge stays low-key; it only tips dramatic when the rest of your face is bare, so add liner and a tinted lip.

Understanding Your Prescription
-
Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes
-
SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
-
BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
-
DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:
-
CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
-
AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
