Quick answer
Gentle Glass Grey Contact Lenses are a soft, milky grey pair made for a quiet wash of cool color. They read as grey contact lenses first and a statement second, which is why they slip into a weekday so easily.
What the Shade Looks Like
Up close, the lens is a milky grey. The center stays light and deepens gradually into a slightly darker grey toward the outer edge, with no band or hard line where the color stops. I don’t see a dot or mesh pattern stamped over the iris; the field looks smooth and softly diffused, like grey watercolor thinned across a pale base. The edge fades into a faint haze instead of a crisp dark ring, so the color settles into the natural iris rather than circling it.
What to Wear With Grey
Grey is an easy neutral to build around, and this pair wants to be treated like one.
-
Cream and denim. A cream cotton tee, straight-leg light denim and a tan leather belt. The warm cream keeps the grey from turning icy.
-
Cool tailoring. Charcoal wool trousers, a pale blue poplin shirt and one thin silver chain; cool on cool makes the grey look intentional.
-
Evening texture. A dove-grey satin slip, a black leather jacket over it and brushed gold hoops to warm the look.
Where They Fit
Brunch, a coffee meeting, a long travel day, a small dinner, a natural-light portrait session. These are lenses for the days when you want your eyes to register without shouting, and they hold their own at a themed party under bold makeup.
Everyday Wear: Yes
Yes, this is an everyday pair. Quiet enough for the office, the grocery store and a Monday where you slept through your alarm. It isn’t the right pick if you want a warm honey tone or a bold jet-black stare; this shade is cool and soft, and that’s the point.
FAQ
What color are these lenses? A milky grey, light in the center and deepening toward a soft grey edge, closer to overcast smoke than flat silver.
What should I wear with them? Cream, oatmeal, charcoal and denim, with silver for a cool finish or brushed gold for warmth.
Are they everyday lenses? Yes, for makeup-light days in normal daylight. On dark eyes they read as a smoky veil; on lighter eyes, a cloudy grey.

Understanding Your Prescription
-
Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes
-
SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
-
BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
-
DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:
-
CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
-
AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
