Quick answer
Gala Smoke Grey Contact Lenses are grey contact lenses with a dotted, soft-focus finish — a beauty-first grey made for blended shadow and glowing skin.
What the Shade Looks Like
The close-up shows a cool grey built from tiny dots rather than flat pigment. The mesh thins near the pupil and gathers at the outer edge into a soft, deeper grey border — a finishing edge, not a heavy ring. No glitter, no graphic print, just an even finish that leaves the iris softly blurred.
What to Wear With Grey
-
Evening polish: charcoal satin midi, a black wool blazer and silver chain earrings.
-
Wedding guest: champagne silk slip, a dove grey wrap coat and pearl studs.
-
Cool daylight: pale grey knit, white denim and black leather loafers.
Keep metals silver or pewter, and let one warm note — champagne or blush — keep the grey from going cold.
Where They Fit
Soft glam is the sweet spot: engagement dinners, wedding receptions, prom photos and studio beauty shoots. In daylight the grey reads quieter, so a low-key office day works with blended makeup. For loud pool-party makeup, a brighter shade works better.
Everyday Wear: Yes
Everyday Wear: Yes. The pattern blends instead of blocking, so this grey never lands as a hard ring and can sit through a workday. Contrast is the risk — graphic liner and glitter tip it toward costume. Keep shadow soft and skin glowing.
FAQ
What color are these grey contact lenses? A cool mid grey — smoke, not silver — with a mesh that softens near the pupil and deepens at the edge.
What should I wear with them? Charcoal satin and silver for evening, champagne silk and pearl for a wedding, grey knit and white denim by day.
Can I wear them every day? Yes — with blended makeup and a neutral wardrobe. With a bare face and sharp liner, save them for camera days.

Understanding Your Prescription
-
Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes
-
SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
-
BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
-
DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:
-
CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
-
AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
