Quick answer

Frostlight Ash Grey Contact Lenses are a cool ash grey pair with a frosty center glow and a soft smoky edge — subtle in daylight, cinematic under flash.

What the Shade Looks Like

Up close the base is a true ash grey: cool, slightly smoky, with no blue or steel in it. A pale frost-white glow sits around the pupil, then melts outward into a fine dot-mesh texture that gets denser toward the edge. The rim is a diffused charcoal ring rather than a hard black line, so it blends instead of stamping on. Light catches as a glossy sheen across the top, which gives the lens its wet, flash-photo finish.

What to Wear With Ash Grey

Keep everything cool-toned — grey, black, denim, silver.

1. Low-rise denim and a baby tee. Grey-wash jeans, a cropped white tee, a ribbed zip hoodie, silver hoops and a frosty highlighter on the cheekbones.

2. Glossy night out. A black satin slip dress, sheer tights, strappy silver heels. Makeup stays Y2K: frosted shadow, thin brows, clear glossy lips, shimmer at the inner corner.

3. Soft work or class. A charcoal blazer over a pale grey knit with straight-leg jeans and small silver studs. Skip the frosty shadow; keep lips balm-gloss only.

Where They Fit

These are photo lenses. They read beautifully in daylight and better under flash — birthday dinners, house parties, concert nights, weekend shoots. They also work as a cosplay base when a character needs pale, otherworldly eyes without going full white.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, with a caveat. The ash grey base is quiet enough for class, the office and errands, and it won’t fight a neutral wardrobe. The frosty center is the loud part: in low indoor light it settles into a soft smoky grey, while in bright sun and camera flash it pops. Wear it daily if you like cool tones; skip it for anything ultra-conservative.

FAQ

  • We recommend a rub and rinse before soaking soft lenses for a minimum of 6 hours in their container.
  • Don't wear contact lenses overnight.
  • Don't wear your contact lenses in the shower or while swimming.
  • Don't reuse contact lens solution.

  • Replace your contact lens case every two to three months.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
