Quick answer
Frosted Toffee Brown Contact Lenses are a warm toffee brown with a dark cocoa core that melts into a soft edge. For brown contact lenses that read natural in daylight and richer in flash photos, this is an easy rotation pair.
What the Shade Looks Like
Up close, the base is a warm toffee brown that deepens into a dark chocolate center. The core-to-edge blend is smooth and blurred — no dot mesh, no printed graphic and no hard outer ring. The finish leans matte rather than mirror-glossy, so the warmth comes through without a reflective shine.
What to Wear With Brown
1. Frosted Denim. Low-rise straight jeans, a cropped white baby tee and frosty silver eyeshadow. Add thin chrome hoops and clear gloss.
2. Glossy Espresso. An espresso satin slip dress, a slim leather shoulder bag and frosted pink lip gloss. Finish with one butterfly clip at the temple.
3. Soft Chrome. A washed grey velour hoodie, low-rise cargos and silver rings. A wash of baby-blue shadow lets the warm brown do the talking.
Where They Fit
These suit a desk, a flight and brunch, and they read beautifully in a flash-photo booth. They also work for Y2K cosplay and themed shoots, where a warm brown eye keeps a busy outfit calm.
Everyday Wear: Yes
Everyday wear is a clear yes — the brown stays quiet in daylight, so it fits school, work and errands. Skip them only if you want a loud party color or a full character transformation.

Understanding Your Prescription
-
Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes
-
SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
-
BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
-
DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:
-
CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
-
AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
