Quick Answer

Frosted Denim Blue Contact Lenses are a cool, smoky blue lens with a fine dot-mesh texture that reads frosty and flash-ready, not costume-y. If you want blue contact lenses that look styled rather than loud, this is the mood: icy, glossy, nostalgic.

What the Shade Looks Like

Up close, the lens reads deep blue at the center and opens into a softer, grey-toned blue at the outer edge. The shift is gradual, not banded, so no hard ring cuts across the iris.

The visible pattern is a dense dot-mesh — tiny dots packed evenly across the field, reading as soft haze rather than one flat wash. The dots stay small, so the surface looks velvety in daylight and picks up a faint sheen under flash. No heavy highlight, no dark rim.

What to Wear With Blue Contact Lenses

1. Frosted Denim Daytime. Low-rise light-wash jeans, a white ribbed tank, an open zip hoodie, silver hoops, clear gloss. Keep the metals cool.

2. Butter Yellow Pop. A pale yellow baby tee, low-rise black denim, chunky sneakers. Yellow sits opposite blue, so the lenses look brighter without competing.

3. Afterparty Gloss. A slip dress in cool grey or baby blue, a cropped leather jacket, a glossy pink lip. Frosted shadow and a thin brow keep it 2000s.

Where They Fit

Best in beauty-first scenes: flash photography, birthday dinners, mall photo dumps, concert selfies, and any night you already have a frosty highlight going. They also suit cosplay and themed parties.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Everyday Wear: Yes. The soft edge keeps the blue from reading theatrical, so it holds up for class, errands, and casual work days. Keep the eye simple — warm bronze shadow fights the frosty tone.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
