Quick Answer
Frostbyte Noir Black Contact Lenses are full-coverage, near-black lenses with a soft brown center blend and a defined dark rim. Bold in photos, still wearable in daylight.
What the Shade Looks Like
In the close-up, the outer field reads near jet, then softens into a warm brown across the center. There is no printed dot mesh or graphic texture — the blend is a smooth gradient, so nothing looks speckled. The defined dark rim frames the edge and gives the iris a drawn-on, comic-sharp shape.
Why it matters: the dark rim is the defining edge, not the main color, and the brown center keeps the lens from looking like flat paint.
What to Wear With Black
Black eats color, so build around texture.
-
Low-rise denim and a baby tee. Faded low-rise jeans, white ribbed tee, silver hoops, bare skin, clear gloss.
-
Patent mini and gloss lips. Black patent skirt, sheer mesh top, nude-pink gloss, frosty shadow.
-
All black with frost. Slip dress, silver chain belt, icy inner-corner highlight, chrome-tone jewelry.
Where They Fit
Errands with bare skin and lip gloss: yes. Casual office: fine. Travel and airport selfies: great. Parties, club nights and photo shoots: this is the pair that carries the frame.
Everyday Wear: Yes
The coverage is full, so the lens does the styling. Wear it with minimal makeup on a normal day, and skip it for client meetings or anything understated.
FAQ
What color are these black contact lenses? Deep jet black with a soft brown center melt and a defined dark rim.
What should I wear with them? Texture over color — low-rise denim and a baby tee, black patent with glossy lips, or all black with silver.
Can I wear them every day? Yes, if you like a bold eye. They work with bare skin and gloss and feel like a lot for a conservative workplace.

Understanding Your Prescription
-
Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes
-
SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
-
BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
-
DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:
-
CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
-
AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
