Quick Answer

Frost Mist Mocha Brown Contact Lenses are a milky, softly diffused mocha brown with no hard rim. If you want brown contact lenses that read like a frosted filter rather than a costume piece, this is the pair.

What the Shade Looks Like

Up close the base is a creamy mocha brown, not flat chocolate. The center stays lighter and milkier, then blurs outward into a warmer brown with no dark ring at the edge. There is no dotted mesh or graphic print — the effect is soft-focus, like a sheer veil over the iris. The finish is misted rather than glassy, with a faint sheen where light hits.

What to Wear With Brown

  1. Frosted Baby Tee: a white ribbed tee, low-rise bootcut denim, a thin silver chain and butterfly clips, plus frosty highlight and a clear gloss lip.
  2. Slip Dress, Camera Flash: a lilac slip dress, a velour zip hoodie, silver hoops, frosted shadow and thin brows.
  3. Denim on Denim: a cropped denim jacket, a white tank, a low-slung belt and strappy heels, with bronze lids and a glossy lip.

Where They Fit

Class, the office, a travel day or a first date — the shade stays quiet in daylight. It also holds up in flash photos at birthday dinners or a Y2K-themed party. For cosplay, treat it as a base eye and let wigs and liner do the loud work.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, this is an everyday pair. The mocha brown looks soft in natural light and only becomes a moment when you pile on frost-heavy shadow. If you want a bold high-contrast ring, this is not that lens.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
