Quick Answer

Florence Haze Brown Contact Lenses are a warm mid-brown pair with a clear center and a soft, edge-free fade. If you want brown contact lenses that read like your own iris on a good light day, this is the one I keep reaching for.

What the Shade Looks Like

The close-up says it plainly: a warm mid-brown base that starts clear at the pupil and blends outward with no hard edge. There is no dotted pattern, no mesh, and no dark outer ring, so the color simply settles across the iris. The finish is satin rather than glossy, which means light glides over it instead of bouncing off. Indoors it reads deeper and slightly cooler; in daylight it warms into a toasted brown close to a natural hazel.

What to Wear With Brown

1. Oatmeal, cream, and gold. An oatmeal knit, an ivory tee, a camel trench, and small gold hoops. Warm metal picks up the warmth already in the brown.

2. Denim and charcoal. A faded blue denim jacket over a charcoal crewneck, silver hoops, black ankle boots. The cool grey-blue keeps the brown from turning too sweet.

3. Olive and rust. An olive linen shirt, a rust silk scarf, a brick-toned lip. Earth tones stack neatly on this shade.

Where They Fit

Desk days, coffee runs, and long flights, anywhere you want your eyes to look awake without obvious makeup. They photograph beautifully in window light, and they work as a low-key lift for a party or a casual cosplay look.

Everyday Wear: Yes

This is a real everyday brown. Bare skin, mascara, a dab of cream blush, no eyeliner, and it holds. It only falls short when you want a hard, graphic eye, because this shade does not do drama.

FAQ

What color are these brown contact lenses? A warm mid-brown with a clear center and no visible rim, so the tone looks continuous with the iris rather than layered on top.

What should I wear with them? Cream, oatmeal, camel, denim, charcoal, olive, and rust all pair well. Gold jewelry leans warm with them, silver keeps the look cooler and cleaner.

Are they good for everyday wear? Yes. With a natural makeup look in daylight they stay subtle and clean, and they feel just as easy on a workday as on a weekend.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
