Quick answer

First Light Glacier Blue Contact Lenses are a cool, feathered blue with no hard rim. They give you the dramatic blue contact lenses look while staying calm enough for a Tuesday at work.

What the Shade Looks Like

The base is a clean, medium glacier blue, not navy and not pastel. Around the pupil the color thins so your own center shows through a light blue wash, then it builds slightly deeper toward the middle of the iris. There is no dotted mesh and no charcoal rim; the surface reads smooth, and the edge feathers instead of stopping at a line.

What to Wear With Glacier Blue

1. Washed denim and oatmeal. Light-wash straight jeans, a cream ribbed knit, a tan belt, thin silver hoops, bare skin.

2. Black matte, silver shine. A black turtleneck or matte satin slip dress, silver earrings, hair back, one glossy lip.

3. Grey suiting with one cobalt piece. A grey wool blazer, white shirt, charcoal trousers, one cobalt bag. Navy and cream work the same way.

Where They Fit

Office days, errands, travel photos, a winter dinner, a low-key party. They hold up in bright portrait light when you want the eyes to carry the frame. For cosplay styling, an icy fantasy concept is the obvious lane.

Everyday Wear: Yes

The feathered edge is why these work daily: nothing sits on the eye like a sticker. In warm, dim indoor light the blue deepens and gets more obvious, so they are not invisible. If your goal is a bare face with nothing added, skip them.

FAQ

What color are these blue contact lenses? A cool glacial blue with a clear center and a soft edge: no dark rim, no glitter, just an even blue wash.

What should I pair them with? Denim, cream, oat, grey and black, with silver metals and one cool accent like cobalt.

Can I wear them every day? Yes, in daylight with simple makeup. They turn bolder in warm indoor light, which makes them best as the one strong note in a quiet outfit.

Contact Lens Care Guidelines

  • We recommend a rub and rinse before soaking soft lenses for a minimum of 6 hours in their container.
  • Don't wear contact lenses overnight.
  • Don't wear your contact lenses in the shower or while swimming.
  • Don't reuse contact lens solution.

  • Replace your contact lens case every two to three months.
  • Take out your contacts if they are bothering you.
  • Never use saliva as a wetting agent.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
