Fearless Amber Contact Lenses

In one line: Fearless Amber Contact Lenses are a golden honey amber with a bright, lit-from-within center and a soft brown rim. Wear them with cream, terracotta, or all black, and yes, they can carry a normal Tuesday.

The Color, Up Close

Amber, not brown. That is the first thing to know. The center is a lit honey gold that reads noticeably warm and bright, and the mid zone around it is packed with fine speckled texture that gives the color depth instead of a flat, painted-on look.

The dots are small and close, and they thin out as they reach the edge, so the transition into the outer band stays soft rather than hard-edged. The rim itself is a defined chocolate brown, a little more present than what you get on a quiet brown pair. It reads as a soft ring of definition around the gold.

Overall: saturated, golden, warmer than most browns, and more visible in the room.

What to Wear With Amber

Cream and camel. The easiest warm-on-warm. A cream sweater with camel trousers and gold jewelry is the whole mood.

Terracotta and rust. Amber and rust are close relatives, so they play off each other. Try a rust top with denim, or a terracotta dress with tan sandals.

Warm browns and chocolate. A chocolate leather jacket, a brown bag, tan boots.

All black. This is where amber earns its name. Against black, the gold ping is loudest and the whole look turns a little sharper.

Denim blue. Just enough cool to make the warm read warm. Blue denim with a white shirt and amber is a very easy pairing.

Style note: silver and cool gray make the gold look more golden. Gold and brass keep it blended.

Where It Belongs

Golden hour photos, brunch, concerts and festivals, birthday dinners, date night, vacation, holiday parties, a night out where you actually want the lens to be part of the look. This one has presence, so it plays the lead rather than the supporting role.

For a quiet weekday it still works, just expect it to be noticed.

Everyday Wear: Yes, With a Twist

It leans everyday-adjacent. Nothing about the design is graphic or costume-like, and the dot texture keeps it from looking printed. But amber is warmer and brighter than a neutral brown, so it does read as a color, not a subtle wash.

That is not a downside, it just changes the styling. Keep the outfit simple and the makeup warm: brown mascara, bronze liner, peach blush, a gloss or a brick lip. This is the pair I reach for on a day I want the eyes to do the talking.

Questions

What color are Fearless Amber contact lenses?

Golden honey amber with a bright center and a defined chocolate brown rim, warmer and more saturated than a standard brown.

What outfits work with amber colored contacts?

Cream, camel, terracotta, rust, chocolate brown, blue denim, and all black. Gold or bronze jewelry keeps the tone blended.

Are these everyday colored contacts?

They can be. The fine texture keeps them looking natural and the warmth is easy to style around. They are simply more noticeable than a soft brown.

Do they look natural or dramatic?

Closer to natural. The dense dots and the soft-edged rim keep the color from reading as printed.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
