Quick Answer
Ember Haze Brown Contact Lenses are a warm, medium-brown pair with a clear center-to-mid blend and no hard rim, which is exactly what makes them easy to wear every day. If you want brown contact lenses that read as a soft enhancement rather than a costume, start here.
What the Shade Looks Like
In the close-up, the base is a warm cocoa brown that sits deepest at the pupil and opens into a lighter brown through the middle of the iris. The center-to-mid transition is clear but gentle, with no hard boundary and no dark ring at the outer edge. There is no visible dot or mesh pattern — the surface reads smooth and even, the coverage is full, and the brown simply softens out at the edge.
What to Wear With Brown
-
Soft neutrals: an oatmeal sweater, ecru denim, a canvas tote and brushed gold hoops with clear brow gel and a tinted balm.
-
Desk to dinner: a chocolate blazer over a white tee, taupe trousers, small silver studs and a rosy nude lip.
-
Warm evening: an espresso slip dress under a camel trench, bronze jewelry and a sheer brown shadow through the crease.
Where They Fit
Office days, brunch, travel days and golden-hour portraits all suit this pair. A party or a cosplay look works too, if you want deeper-looking eyes without a visible graphic.
Everyday Wear: Yes
Yes — this is an everyday pair. The blend is soft enough for bare skin and a sweep of tinted balm, and the brown is deep enough to show on camera. Skip them only if you are after a graphic pattern; this design is deliberately quiet.
FAQ
What color are these brown contact lenses? A warm, medium brown that eases lighter toward the edge.
What should I wear with them? Cream, oatmeal, camel, chocolate, denim and taupe, with gold or silver metals.
Can I wear them every day? Yes. The blend is soft and the brown stays quiet in daylight, so a bare face works well.

Understanding Your Prescription
-
Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes
-
SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
-
BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
-
DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:
-
CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
-
AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
