Quick Answer

Eclipse Autumn Brown Contact Lenses are a deep espresso brown that blends into a soft, defined edge — a quiet pick if you want brown contact lenses that add depth without shouting color.

What the Shade Looks Like

The base is deep espresso brown with a warm cocoa undertone that only shows in daylight. The center stays clear, so your own iris comes through as the brown builds outward. The pigment sits in a fine dotted mesh rather than a solid block, which keeps the outer blend soft. Near the rim the brown deepens into a quiet defining line. No gold fleck, no metallic shine, no heavy black ring.

What to Wear With Brown

1. Oatmeal and cream. A ribbed knit, cream wide-leg denim and a camel trench keep everything warm. Small gold hoops finish it.

2. Indigo denim and espresso leather. A mid-wash denim jacket over a plain black tee, a chocolate shoulder bag, brushed silver jewelry.

3. Black with warm neutrals. A black turtleneck under a camel coat makes the brown look richer. Bronze earrings tie it together.

Where They Fit

Desk-to-dinner lenses. They hold up in office light, look natural on video calls, travel well, and photograph nicely in soft daylight. For a party or cosplay look, they add depth without going costume.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, and the reason is simple. In daylight they read as your own eyes, just deeper and better defined, which makes them easy for work, class or brunch. In flash photos they turn noticeably darker, so skip them if what you want is an obvious color change.

FAQ

What color are these brown contact lenses? Deep espresso brown with a warm cocoa cast and a slightly darker outer edge. Not caramel, not honey.

What should I wear with them? Warm neutrals: oatmeal, cream, camel, chocolate leather, denim. Black and bronze work too.

Can I wear them every day? Yes. The look is built for natural, no-makeup makeup eyes, so expect subtle depth rather than a dramatic shift.

  • Don't reuse contact lens solution.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
